We keep as little as we can.

The free check

We don’t ask who you are. We keep the FCC’s public responses for up to two days (to avoid asking the FCC again) and nothing about which station you looked up beyond that.
To limit abuse we keep a keyed hash of your IP address with a daily count. The key is random and replaced every day, so the hash can’t be turned back into an address; counts are deleted after a week. We don’t store IP addresses.

Desk accounts

Your email address, to sign you in (by emailed link) and send the reminders you turn on.
Your stations and lists: the call signs you add and what you type into the list builder.
Subscription status from Stripe (plan, quantity, renewal date). We never see your card number.
Reminder history: which reminders we sent, so we don’t send one twice.
A session cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It’s the only cookie we set, and only when you sign in.

How long

Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and are deleted a day later; we store only a hash of each link.
After a subscription ends, your stations, lists and reminder history are deleted 180 days later, then your account. Accounts that never subscribe are deleted after 30 days.

Optional features that use other services

Local headlines come from the GDELT Project’s public API, which receives only your station’s community name.
AI drafting (optional) sends the issue title, your notes and linked program titles to Cloudflare Workers AI to suggest a narrative. It isn’t used to train models by us, and we don’t keep the prompt.

Cloudflare: hosting, storage, email sending and AI (United States).
Stripe and Link: payments and receipts.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free, to count page visits. No advertising trackers.

Your choices

You can remove stations and cancel anytime from your account. To delete your account sooner, email hello@stationclerk.com from the address you sign in with.
